Want to get involved with the St. Vincent de Paul Society?

There are several ways to get involved with the SVDP conference at Mary Queen of Peace Parish. We are a Catholic lay organization of volunteer members.  Our members span all walks of life.  The Society provides a way for our members to live out their faith not just in word, but in deed.

Client Visits.

Join our conference membership and work directly with the needy within our parish boundaries.  Based on the circumstances, our volunteers go out 2 by 2 and meet with our needy brothers and sisters, either in their home or at our church parish center.  Just as Christ sent His apostles out 2 by 2 to cure the sick, feed the hungry, clothe the naked, visit the imprisoned, so too do our members work together in pairs to assess the needs of those we serve and to be a part of the solution to help those in need  get back on their feet and out of their current predicament.  Many of the calls for help that come to us are for helpt with utility bills, shelter, food, and other emergency needs.

Conference Support.

If working directly with those in need is not your thing, we may have other projects that you can work on within the conference.  Help us with record keeping, fundraising, or special works that happen from time to time during the year.

Prayer Support.

Our clients as well as our members need your prayers.  Not everyone is physically able to help others, but the power of prayer can make all of the difference to those in difficult situations.

Financial Support.

All of the funds used for the benefit of those we serve are provided by our parishioners and special donors.
